MICROSOFT LAUNCHES COPILOT FOR EVERYONE

The News: Microsoft just started offering its AI-powered Office features, called Copilot Pro, to everyone, not just businesses. For $20 a month, you can use AI in apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It also lets you use the newest AI models from OpenAI and make your own AI helpers.

Why it matters: This makes doing stuff in Office apps way easier and more fun. You can make a whole PowerPoint presentation just by asking, rewrite things in Word, answer emails in Outlook, and do cool things with data in Excel. If you're already using Microsoft 365, adding Copilot Pro will give you these smart features on your computer and iPad. It's great for people who use Office a lot and want to do things faster and more creatively. Copilot Pro also has special tools for making pictures and your own AI chatbot. Microsoft is making these AI tools available to more people, so lots of us can try out the newest and smartest features.

OPENAI’S NEW RULE AGAINST MISINFORMATION

The News: OpenA, just made new rules to stop people from using their AI tools in the wrong way, especially during elections. They don't want their tools used to pretend to be candidates or governments, to change how people think about voting, or to spread wrong information about voting.

Why it matters: This is important because AI can make very real-looking fake images and videos. OpenAI is working with a group called C2PA to put special digital marks on images made by Dall-E. These marks help tell if an image is made by AI. Also, OpenAI's tools will send people to CanIVote.org for correct voting info in the U.S. But, these new tools aren't perfect yet. They need people to report problems, and AI can still be surprising. So, everyone needs to be smart about what they see and read, especially if it seems too strange or too good to be true.
