Prompt Engineer, a new role created with the rise in AI popularity

When the World Economic Forum predicted a few years ago that artificial intelligence would cause seven million job losses, most people thought we’ll be moving to a world where humans will not be needed to perform tasks but with the increase in more efficient users of AI tools, there’s been a rather shocking need for ‘prompt engineers’ these are people who are very skilled at telling an AI what to do, getting it to do the exact thing in the shortest number of tries possible and also doing it very well.

An online marketplace called Promptbase has already sprung up, where prompt engineers can sell their carefully crafted instructions for image-generation tools such as Midjourney. For a couple of bucks, you can buy pre-written templates for “cute robotic animal pictures” and “3D game renders”.

Colin Treseler, the co-founder of Supernormal, is one of those looking to hire. “You have to find ways to talk to the model to get the correct output,” he says. The problem is there aren’t many people doing this job yet: I found only a handful on LinkedIn.

so mum…dad…i am a prompt engineer now…thank you <3

China bans AI-generated media without watermarks

China has taken a regulatory stance on AI by banning all AI generated media including images and videos that do not have a watermark clearly stating they are AI generated, and it will take effect on January 10, 2023.

So I mean you Chinese based scammers still have about 3 weeks and a bit

Here’s the statement released by the Chinese government:

Note China calls AI, "deep synthesis" technology.

In recent years, deep synthesis technology has developed rapidly. While serving user needs and improving user experience, it has also been used by some unscrupulous people to produce, copy, publish, and disseminate illegal and harmful information, to slander and belittle others' reputation and honor, and to counterfeit others' identities. Committing fraud, etc., affects the order of communication and social order, damages the legitimate rights and interests of the people, and endangers national security and social stability.

The introduction of the "Regulations" is a need to prevent and resolve security risks, and it is also a need to promote the healthy development of in-depth synthetic services and improve the level of supervision capabilities.

Providers of deep synthesis services shall add signs that do not affect the use of information content generated or edited using their services. Services that provide functions such as intelligent dialogue, synthesized human voice, human face generation, and immersive realistic scenes that generate or significantly change information content, shall be marked prominently to avoid public confusion or misidentification.

It is required that no organization or individual shall use technical means to delete, tamper with, or conceal relevant marks.

Further, companies that provide deep synthesis tech must keep their records legally compliant, and people using the technology must register for accounts with their real names so their generation activity can be traceable.

so yeah a MAJOR stance!

Fox News host opens show with monologue generated by AI - and it sounded real

A Fox News presenter read an opening monologue that was scripted by AI - and it sounds eerily similar to something a human would write.

On his show The Next Revolution, host Steve Hilton delivered the typical opening monologue, but it wasn’t until after he was finished that he made the big revelation.

Hilton made the artificial intelligence-generated sequence all about AI itself and defended the technology over accusations it poses a threat to the jobs of real people.

It began with Hilton introducing himself to his “fellow Americans” and continued into a defence of AI.

No long talk just watch the video and your mind will be blown by how accurate it is.
